Mission Statement

St Thomas’ Community Project serves Garretts Green by working with local people, in partnership with other organisations, using available resources to contribute to the well-being and vitality of the whole community.

Partners

The strength of the community project comes from its volunteers who are mainly from St Thomas church. They give up their time and put lots of effort into the work of the community project and the church. The community project runs the services listed below in response to expressed needs from the local community. 

Other groups and organisations use our facilities and provide activities and services for local people. These are listed below. 

Chattabox - Children’s Club
  1. Monday night 6p.m. - 7.15p.m.

  2. Children aged 8 - 11 years

  3. £1 per family

  4. Church Hall

Down to Earth - Youth Club
  1. Monday night 7.30p.m. - 9p.m.

  2. Young People aged 11 + years

  3. £1 per family

  4. Church Hall

SLY - Children’s Club
  1. Tuesday night 5.30p.m. - 7p.m.

  2. Children aged 8 - 13 years

  3. £1per family

  4. Community Centre

SLY stands for Sheldon Little Youth. This children’s club is open to any local children but is aimed specifically at children who do not access our other provisions. It is a non structured drop in session where the children can relax, chat and play pool, computer consoles and listen to music. Lil Saints - Youth Club

Toms Happy Circle - Lunch Club

Toms happy circle is an opportunity for elderly members from the community to get together, socialise, have a nice lunch and a game of bingo. Toms happy circle is totally run and organised by volunteers from St Thomas Church. For more information please contact us

The Rochelle School of Dance

Established in 1987

Thursday Mornings in the community centre

Every Monday and Wednesday morning 9.30 - 11.30 in the community centre. New members are welcome. For more information please contact us 

Little Angels - Stay and Play

Every Monday morning 9am - 11.15am in the church hall. Come along and join in the wide range of fun activities. The session costs £1 per child and a snack is included in the price. For more information please contact us

Schools work - We work in a number of local schools delivering assemblies, activities and projects.


Sheldon Countryside Festival - St Thomas Community project is a lead partner in the organisation and delivery of Sheldon Countryside Festival.
